Our Services | Fast Internet

Internet access takes on a new importance if you are using Cloud Technologies.

fastinternet

If  your web access is:

  • Slow
  • Unreliable
  • Variable speed
  • Slow upstream

then implementing Hosted Exchange or Applications could be unreliable and a weak link in your IT structure.

With the roll-out of Fibre To The Cabinet (FTTC) seeming to be patchy and ADSL Broadband speeds in remote areas still limited, you may be concerned that moving all your services to the Cloud would be far too reliant on the quality of your internet connection. You may also be concerned about what would happen if you lose internet connectivity altogether.

There are many options available, depending on your location and speed requirements.

  • Bonded DSL
  • Ethernet in the First Mile (EFM)
  • Fibre To The Cabinet (FTTC)
  • Fibre To The Premises (FTTP)
  • Satellite Internet
  • Bonded 3G

With the correct hardware, you can also configure fail-over to a different provider or to a mobile 3G dongle.

  • Super Fast Fibre
  • EFM
  • Bonded ADSL

FTTP (Fibre To The Premises) also known as fibre leased-line, provides connection speeds up to 1 gigabit.

As part of the UK Government’s scheme promoting the “Internet of Things (IoT)” it has never been cheaper to get superfast internet to your office.

OntheCloud IT are registered suppliers under the Connection Voucher Scheme, with eligible companies entitled to a grant to cover the cost of installation.

EFM (Ethernet in the First Mile) works over standard copper wires (telephone lines!) to provide a robust, high-speed internet connection to your business.

Cheaper than traditional “lease-lines” which require installation of new lines, EFM works over “bonded pairs” of existing copper wires. By spreading and combining the bandwidth over multiple lines, overall speed is increased and if there is a failure in one line the system will continue to work on the remaining lines.

By taking two or more standard Broadband ADSL lines and “bonding” them together the speed of your internet connection is improved and if one of the connections fail you can still work with one connection, even if at a lower speed.

We have worked with SharedBand and FireBrick to bring faster, more resilient internet connections to businesses.
